In the afternoon, on the 6^th of July, the president of the Republic of Croatia, Stjepan Mesić with his associates, visited monastery Krka. Bishop of Dalmatia Fotije with the monastery brotherhood met this distinguished person. President Mesić stayed in monastery about half an hour, and on this occasion he visited monastery church and other significant parts of monastery. He expressed his complacency regarding the possibility to visit this sanctuary, as well as satisfaction with its evident reconstruction. At the same time, he agreed with His Grace, Bishop Fotije that the revival of economy in this part of Dalmatia is hastily needed, so that people who left this region might come back and find job.
Mr. Mesić showed his interest in the return of the monastery treasury and organization of the treasury ambience. In his cordial word of welcome His Grace, Bishop Fotije particularly emphasized the great importance of monastery Krka as a spiritual, educational, cultural and historical centre of orthodox Serbs, which is in this time of European integrations visited by thousands of tourists from all around the world, but mostly from EU. Thus, even nowadays this sanctuary continues with its profound mission.
